Wildbirds & Peacedrums
# FYR004

Writing about Wildbirds & Peacedrums and their music should really be an easy task taking on. Merely put down all superlatives one knows; fantastic, beautiful, brilliant and so on; and there it is. Because that's how it is. That's what it feels like. But to make this text express and capture what emotions they stir up, something more is needed. It takes balance and timing, and something that is indescribable but makes one feel how fantastic it really is, rather than understanding that we feel that way. This is exactly what Wildbirds & Peacedrums manage to do on their debut album. Well-balanced and certain. The music gets directly under one's skin and stays! Because it is not only by the first encounter Wildbirds & Peacedrums brings a tremendous happiness to one's heart, if possible, it becomes even more real by time, and to us, that gives a higher final mark when compared to lots of other bands.

Mariam Wallentin - voclas & various
Andreas Werliin - drums & various

"Divinely evocative"

- Time Out

"It's no overstatement to say their self produced debut, Heartcore, is something of a minor masterpiece!"

- The Stool Pigeon

"It rocks!... If you're lookimg for passionate freshness, 'Heartcore' is where it's at"

- Artrocker

"Imagine Björk's Debut seriously fiending for a rhythm fix."

- Pitchfork

"At times it's hard to believe the majesty and racket emanating from the stage is the work of but two musicians, such is the impact they have...incredible"

- Drowned In Sound

"Weird, wonky, wired - part Camille, part PJ Harvey, part Scout Niblett - ALL brilliant!"

- Subba-Cultcha

Bravo!

- Viveca Bladh, Göteborgs-Posten (4 of 5)

"They are impossible to put into one genre, their music is exceptionally original...always with supreme balance, shrieking, tumbling with an astonishing range..."

- Sonic

"...refreshingly original; tender, spiritual, and dirty; all at the same time."

- Dagens Nyheter
